This is too good/possibly too sad not to re-post. According to varying sources McAfee of antivirus fame was accosted/arrested at his Orange Walk compounded in Belize City, wait that’s nonsense posted by the Daily Mail…
The point is Mr. McAfee was involved in an incident with the Gang Suppression Unit in Orange Walk Town/City. Where after 14 hours in the hot Belize sun Mr. McAfee lived to tell the tale. According to Mr. McAfee his house and compound was searched for illegal guns and drugs. But what emerged was a 17 year old who claims to be Mr. McAfee’s girlfriend, according to one account. Go figure. To make this story complete McAfee claims the gang suppression unit killed his dog.
The truly sad part of this story is the unfortunate damage to Belize’s reputation internationally. Other sites covering this story like The Verge expose this damage in the reader comments. People are quick to blame Belize as a whole for this incident.
